Dear Current and Prospective Patients,

Hello, my name is Dr. John Vawter, and I am pleased to welcome you to my clinic.  I have been practicing chiropractic for more than seven years, and have enjoyed the opportunity to provide a service to the friendly people of our community.  My primary purpose is to provide individualized, safe, and effective pain relief to those in need.  For me, chiropractic is more than a remedy; it’s a way of living.  Through proper chiropractic maintenance and wellness care, I believe you will improve the overall quality of your life.

My primary treatment technique is diversified manual adjusting—which means you will receive thorough and professional “hands-on” adjustments.  Some who have never received chiropractic care sometimes express trepidation about being adjusted.  The idea of someone “popping” their neck or back can be a daunting notion for some.  First, let me assure you that each procedure I perform is carefully evaluated and calculated to provide you with maximum relief with minimal discomfort.  Second, if manual manipulation is not an option for you, I also employ safe and effective chiropractic techniques that do not cause cavitation (the popping sound).  Alternative methods include drop table, flexion-distraction techniques, and an Activator Instrument—which provides ultra-low force for specific adjustments.  Upon your visit, we will discuss which option is best suited for your needs.

On a personal note, I’d like to share a little information about my background.  I was born into a military family and a military lifestyle, which means moving all the time.  I have lived in the several parts of the United States and in two foreign countries. In 1990, our family moved to New Mexico where my Father eventually retired from the service. In 1997 I married my wife Maribel and in 2003, not long after finishing chiropractic school, my son Joshua was born.  My family and I spent a total of seven years in the Dallas area between chiropractic school and work. While I enjoyed the many things about the DFW metroplex, I missed the crisp, cool air and mountains of New Mexico, so in 2006, my family and I moved to Albuquerque.

Outside of work I stay very busy. My weekends consist of visiting extended family or my church family, and finding an excuse to get outside and stay active.  I ‘m passionate about hiking.  I hike Sandia and the surrounding area, but a few times during the summer I’ll conquer some really high peaks.  Last summer it was Pike’s Peak and Mt. Whitney (the highest mountain in the lower 48 states.)  When I’m not hiking, my family and I like to pull the camper-trailer to surrounding parks—this is my wife’s idea of “roughing it.”  When the cold winds blow, and the mountain’s covered with snow, I put away the camping gear and take to running.  In January, I finished my first half-marathon, wilderness trail run.

I’ve provided you the purpose of my clinic and an insight into who I am.  I want to thank you again for talking the time to visit our website.  Whichever path has lead you to chiropractic care, let me assure you that there are benefits for all people, of all ages, from all walks of life. Let me extend to you an invitation for a FREE consultation with me at 505-891-2500 so I can learn about your individual needs and answer any questions you may have.

With blessings of good health and happiness,

John K Vawter, DC
